Grade Recovery Plan (GRP)

GRP is a strategy that allows for students to show understanding of certain
topics that have not been mastered.

What assignments can be redone using GRP?

Tests
Quizzes
Portfolios
Discussions
(Online Practice and Quick Checks cannot be redone)

When can I turn in GRP?

GRP is accepted from the time a course opens until the last day of the
semester.

How many times can GRP be completed?

You get 3 opportunities to turn in GRP per lesson. If you are doing GRP
incorrectly an alternative assignment may be given.

How to I complete GRP?

GRP for Tests and Quizzes

Please follow all of these steps to earn full points for the questions you
answered incorrectly on a quiz or test:

In a Word document, include your name, class, date, and title of quiz or
test (unit and lesson number included).

You will need to type out the question you answered incorrectly and include
the wrong answer and the right answer.
(you can find which ones you got wrong by going into the gradebook,
clicking on Social Studies and then on the points you received for the
test/quiz)

Give me a few sentences explaining why it is the correct answer; be
specific.
Please give details to support your answers and page numbers from the
textbook to demonstrate you've looked for the answer.

Tell me why your original answer was incorrect; be specific.
Please give details to support your answers and page numbers from the
textbook to demonstrate you've looked for the answer.

***Your response should be in a short paragraph form.

All requirements must be met in order to gain back credit for questions.

Here is an example of what this should look like:

10. Hernan Cortes destroyed the powerful empire of the (1 point)
(0 pts) Inca.

(1 pt) Aztec.

(0 pts) Maya.

(0 pts) Olmec.

0 /1 point

B is the correct answer because Hernan Cortes marched on Tenochtitlan, the
capital of the Aztecs and conquered the ruler Montezuma, therefore
destroying the Aztec Empire. Spain then took over the area. Information
found on page 52 of American Republic Textbook.

I put A because I thought that Hernan Cortes conquered the Inca but that is
incorrect, the Inca were conquered by the Spanish Conquistador Francisco
Pizarro. Information found on page 53 of American Republic Textbook.





GRP for Portfolios

Please follow all of these steps to earn full points for portfolios:

Go into your grade book and click on the class you would like to work on.

Then find the portfolio that you would like to improve.

Click on the points earned for that portfolio. A box will come up with the
comments your teacher has left you on how to improve upon your portfolio.

Be sure to also go to the message board for the class and click on
"Portfolio Help."

Use the resources provided on the message board as well as the comments
your teacher left you to improve upon your portfolio.



GRP for Discussions

Please follow all of these steps to earn full points for discussions:

Go into your grade book and click on the class you would like to work on.

Then find the discussion that you would like to improve.

Click on the points earned for that discussion. A box will come up with
the comments your teacher has left you on how to improve upon your
discussion.

Be sure that you have fully answered the original discussion question as
well as written two meaningful posts to your classmates.

You simply create a thread post with your new response(s).

Email your teacher to let them know you have completed the discussion.
This is VERY important as it does not notify us if you redo it.


If you run into any problems please let me know but if you complete OFI it
will bring up your grade significantly and help you to gain a better
understanding of the material.
